    A cleaning company whose directors are being charged with human trafficking was not awarded an oncology hospital contract by the government, Health Minister Chris Fearne has clarified. The company, he said, was engaged to clean the building by the contractor before it was handed over to the government last year. Four Directors of MCCS Ltd (Mr Clean) are charged with trafficking 31 Filipino workers to Malta, incorporating and financing a criminal organization and misappropriation. Joseph Degorgio and his children Paul Degorgio, Christian Degorgio and Josianne Bugeja deny the charges.A court on Tuesday heard how Mr Clean was "recently" awarded a cleaning contract at the new cancer hospital. But in comments to this newspaper, Mr Fearne said the information given in court was either incorrect or unclear.     A cleaning services company whose directors are charged with human trafficking recently won a tender for the provision of cleaning services at the Oncology Hospital, a court heard today.The court was also requested to lift a freezing order against Servizi Malta Ltd which, it was claimed, was wrongfully mentioned in the charges against the Mr Clean directors.The Malta Independent had already revealed how Mr Clean (MCCS Ltd) has won cleaning contracts in 19 state schools but had payments stopped by the Education Department after it was found that the company was paying its employees at rates which were lower than stipulated by anti-precarious work measures.The accused are Joseph Degiorgio, 71, from Balzan, Paul Degorgio, 47, from Lija, Christopher Degorgio, 42, from Naxxar and Josianne Bugeja Degorgio, 34, from Balzan.
