    The fourth round of races from the Assoċjazzjoni Sport Muturi u Karozzi Enduro Championship was held in Gozo last Sunday. Sixteen riders competed on the three-kilometre long track at Ħondoq Ir-Rummien in the limits of Qala with the main sponsors on the day being Pasta Poiatti and Dunlop Tyres. Racing started with an eventful session for pole position with Bernard Sammut, on a KTM, dominating the early proceedings and followed by Joseph Scicluna (KTM) and James Zahra, on Sherco. Sammut lost a couple of places on the timesheet as Matthew Gauci (Yamaha DT) also entered the scene with a flying lap of 3:54.11 that won him the day's honours in Class B. Sammut was second (4:24.40) and Scicluna (4:37.17) third. Class A was reserved for those riders on a motorcycle with small-calibre engines. Kris Falzon recorded the best time, 6:45.14, to beat the challenge of runner-up Gabriel Muscat (7:46.31) on a Honda CRF while James Grima (KTM) classified third with a time of 11:26.70.     An encouraging entry list of 50 competitors took part in last weekend's racing programme from the ASMK Pasta Poiatti National Championships for Autocross and Motocross, at Ta' Qali. In both Autocross sections, Modified and Standard, the competition was very close with no driver managing a clean sweep of three wins in the heats. Philip Joe Vella, Jonathan Camilleri and Gordon Johnson, all driving Opel Corsa, managed the highest amount of points in qualifying to secure their places in the Class A final. They were joined by Matthew Borg (Vauxhall Nova), Karl Micallef (Ford Fiesta) and Noel Zammit (Fiat Punto). Johnson, Micallef and Vella raced to the first corner but as the race developed, Johnson seized the lead, a position he did not surrender until the chequered flag. Midway through the race, the marshals had to intervene following an incident involving Camilleri's Opel Corsa. Racing was stopped for safety reasons but resumed without delay after the tyre barriers were put in place. ... ...
